A vertical fracture was confirmed and the patient was referred for dental extraction.

Dental History: Regular dental attender with previous dental implant treatment.

Medical History: No relevant medical history. His blood pressure was recorded at 145/77 mm/hg

Extraoral Examination:

Supplemental Information:

  • The upper left first premolar requires extraction during this covid-19 lockdown
  • The tooth was extracted under local anaesthesia without complication.
  • Air Purification system was operational and all the appropriate PPE was available.
  • Patient wants a dental implant and as only emergency treatment is allowed at present a collagen implant was placed in the socket to maintain bone levels.
  • The Nobel Biocare Collagen block with a bilayer of Xeno-protect collagen was used.
  • The dental implant will be placed at the back of 2020 when the Covid-19 situation has improved.

“I am so grateful you provided emergency oral surgery cover during this Covid-19 lockdown. I understand the concept of the collagen bone block preserving my bone as I have had implants with your good self already. I will be back in six months to get my dental implant placed and hopefully it will be as easy as the last one”.
